Bagno Altamarea is located in the Gulf of Baratti, in the district of Piombino. Since 1999, it’s the ideal place to spend your summer and this year it’s our 20th year of business activity.
Reaching us is really easy thanks to the long panoramic street along the gulf: step by step, it seems to immerse yourself into another dimension, where the magic of ancient times full of myths and legends melts with the beauty of our land. The access is easy for anyone: from the parking, there’s no architectural barrier, no one step.
The Gulf of Baratti has a small touristic harbour, a beach perfect both for people loving sand and those ones preferring rocks, amazing seabeds for scuba diving lovers and a fresh pinewood with age-old trees with strange shapes due to atmospherical agents during the years.
In this area, sand has different consistencies and colors: in some corners, it’s very thin, while in some other ones, it’s darker and thicker thanks to the hematite working process during Etruscan and Roman Ages. Few meters from the beach, it’s possible to discover anything about such a mining activity of this area by finding out the roots of our culture thanks to the Archeological Park of Baratti and Populonia.
